SASDC MSME Labour Market Dialogue

SASDC MSME Labour Market Dialogue

Your experience matters. Help shape practical solutions for MSME employment and skills development. The South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC), through Project EMBRACE, invites you to participate in an MSME Labour Market Dialogue.

MSMEs are widely recognised as important drivers of economic growth and employment. However, businesses continue to face practical challenges that affect their ability to grow their workforce, recruit and retain the right skills, and provide opportunities for young people, learners, interns and apprentices.

This dialogue is intended to hear directly from MSMEs about these challenges and, importantly, what would make a practical difference.

The discussion will explore issues including:

• What is preventing MSMEs from creating more employment?

• What skills and workforce challenges are businesses experiencing?

• What makes it difficult to recruit and retain young talent?

• What prevents MSMEs from taking on learners, interns and apprentices?

• How do finance, cash flow, procurement, market access, regulation and operational constraints affect employment growth?

• What practical support is required from SASDC, corporate partners and the broader ecosystem? These areas reflect the core questions identified for the dialogue.
