The South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) is on a mission to transform South Africa through inclusive growth of black business in our supply chains. We do this by identifying the challenges and then working with our corporate and supplier members to find solutions. Access to funding is one such challenge for many SMMEs, many SMMEs do not know the various funding vehicles available to them. Also, these funding vehicles require anyone applying to meet particular criteria. Similarly, there are many opportunities being offered by both the private and public sector to SMMEs that they may not be aware of. The purpose of this webinar series is to showcase some of the funding opportunities currently available and discuss the differences between them i.e. loan, grant, development funding and so on.
The SASDC would also like to offer support to SMMEs who are interested in these funding vehicles by ensuring their readiness and capabilities. As a corporate, what funding opportunities have you created for black businesses in our country? What kind of criteria do these businesses need to fulfil to access this funding? What should they be aware of if the funding is a loan, grant, development funding? . As a black owned business, what challenges have you had in accessing funding? We have planned a stimulating program for this event. From our speakers, we will share a holistic view on challenges, successes and opportunities that exist and can be created for SMMEs to access funding.
